چکیده
The paper aims to investigate influence of some important aspects of multinationals (MNCs), i.e., corporate strategies, structures and international policy orientations on subsidiaries HRM practices, specifically on recruitment and selection practices. Four European multinational subsidiaries operating in Bangladesh were selected for the study. In-depth case studies on those MNCs revealed that HRM practices are guided by the changing nature of strategies, structures and HQ’s policy orientation towards the subsidiaries. However, it contradicts the ‘born global’ hypothesis and revealed that standardization of subsidiaries are not solely depended on parent companies, changing capabilities and importance of subsidiaries determine the subsidiary-HQ relationship and subsequently the standardization of HRM practices at the subsidiary level.
